Cowtown Scramble Vintage Base Ball Festival
Each year on the first weekend in October, Creamery Field Vintage Base Ball Park, home of the Bovina Dairymen in Bovina Center, N.Y., hosts a premier event in the 19th century baseball community amid the backdrop of fall colors in the Catskill Mountain foothills. Teams from throughout the Northeast compete for the love of the game and in 2023, for the first time since its inception, the Cream of the Crop Award (an antique butter churn) was bestowed upon the team demonstrtating the most skill, sportsmanship and grit - the Atlantic Base Ball Club of Brooklyn, a team that has among the longest tenure in vintage baseball representing one of the original baseball clubs during the formative years of the game in New York City in the mid-nineteenth century.

Teams expected this year include Atlantic Base Ball Club of Brooklyn, Bovina Dairymen, Delhi Polecats, Fleischmanns Mountain Athletic Club, Mutual Base Ball Club of New York, Providence Grays, Saugerties Base Ball Club, Connecticut Base Ball Club of Hartford and the Westfield Wheelmen.
