What is Vintage Base Ball?
The Delaware County (N.Y.) Vintage Base Ball Association offers players and fans alike an opportunity to experience baseball as it was played in the 19th century while connecting new generations to the rich tradition began here in 1825.
"Vintage" base ball (spelled more often as two words until 1896) is a loose term for amateur baseball played by the various rules, customs, and equipment of the 1800's. Men and women play with wooden bats, no gloves (in some cases) and period-accurate attire to showcase the game as it evolved in its formative years. Each of our Clubs are members of the Vintage Base Ball Association & National Association of Historic Base Ball Clubs.Come to a Game!
The teams of the Delaware County Vintage Base Ball Association are dedicated to producing historically-accurate and competitive nineteenth century base ball in a family friendly environment throughout Delaware County and the surrounding areas.
All games are free and we welcome everyone to join us.
